Albert Lee Urie

September 28, 1934 — April 21, 2026

Albert Lee Urie passed away surrounded by his loving family from a heart condition. Lee is survived by his wife Barbara, sons Mark (Cheryl) Urie, Joe Urie, daughter Rebecca Brown, grandson Matthew Brown, brother Carl Urie and sister-in-law Beryl Urie, Jordan, daughter-in-law, Mattie, Marlee Brown, great granddaughters. Preceded in death by his parents Albert and Winifred Urie, brothers William, John Urie, sister Rose Johnson, and grandson Daniel Brown.

As a teenager, Lee assisted his father in building a cable car from the bottom of the Snake River Canyon to the rim to attend Filer schools. Lee graduated from Utah State University with a degree in agriculture in 1957. He then accepted a position with the USDA researching sunflower, safflower, and cotton. This position allowed the Urie family to live in Utah, California, and Idaho. As an agronomist, Lee enjoyed teaching and researching throughout the US, Mexico, and Egypt.

Lee loved to fish, rock climb, ski, and hunt with his son Mark. Lee and Barbara enjoyed traveling and camping with the Twin Falls Bluebirds. Lee and also enjoyed family gatherings and was especially fond of his autistic grandson, Matthew. Lee was a devoted Christian and led his family by example.
