Alice N. Brooks-Barton

Alice N. Brooks-Barton of Twin Falls passed away Friday, October 28. 2011 after a lengthy illness. Alice was born September 11, 1939, Nickelsville, Virginia, to T.R. and Vista Salyers, the fourth of seven children. Alice lived in the Magic Valley for the past 35 years. She enjoyed working for the Shoshone Care Center until she moved to Twin Falls when she married Richard “Dick” Barton. Alice enjoyed traveling, especially to the Oregon coast with her best friend Helen, shopping, reading and spending time with her family. Alice is survived by her husband Dick Barton of Twin Falls, her brother J.W. Salyers of Nevada, her sister Norma Jean Gray of Virginia and her sister Delphia Ann Hudson of West Virginia; her daughter Debra Sue (Rocky) Flanary of Church Hill, Tennessee and her daughter Nicki (Jeff) Leazer of Twin Falls. She is survived by her grandchildren Katie (Shane) Stevens of Kingsport, Tennessee, Ryan (Sarah) and Brendan Grimsley of Boise, Ashley and Rio Leazer of Twin Falls and her great grandchildren Ava, Sofia and Patxi as well as numerous nieces and nephews and several step children and grandchildren from her marriage to Dick. Alice was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Rayburn and Kenneth Salyers of Tennessee and her sister Dana Sylvia Fields of Virginia. The family wishes to thank her caregivers at Davita Dialysis especially Jason and Tiffany who took care of her during her hospital stays, as well as the many doctors and nurses who cared for her at St Luke’s Magic Valley Regional Medical Center. Services will be held at 1:00 pm, Wednesday, November 2, 2011 at Rosenau Funeral Home with a viewing on Tuesday, November 1 from 6-8 pm at the funeral home.
