Alice West

Alice Dixie West passed away on May 23,2024 after a life of 101 well lived years. Alice was raised in Wendell, ID for most of her younger life. She is the descendent of a long line of the Brigham Young and the Latter Day Saints people. She was born to George Wesley Griffith and Nance Prince Griffith on April 17, 1923.

In 1946, at the age of 26, Alice married Glen Peterson and they had two children Jackie Peterson and James “Mo” Monte Peterson. They divorced in 1950 and she later married Clyde West in 1952. Together they had two sons Michael “Mike” Griffith West, Bruce Allen West and later a daughter Nancy Jo West. Clyde completed the family by adopting Jackie and Mo in 1952.

Alice took great pride in raising her children to be good people and then supporting them in raising theirs. 

Each birthday that came and went was amazing as she couldn't believe she turned 100 and then lived to be 101.

Alice is survived by her sister June Griffith Dudley, who will be turning 99 in June. Her Children Jackie West (Lanny), Mo, Mike, and Bruce. Grandchildren Rondi (Chad) Ruffing, Nikki (John) Mee, Jonny Schell, Jaimie (Donny) Christina, Jason West, Trevor West, Jeff West, Dixie Craig, Tami Craig, and Adam Craig and countless great and great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by husband Clyde, her daughter Nancy, brothers Jay, Ted, and Jack, granddaughter Annjeannette West.

There will be a private family viewing Twin Falls and burial at 2pm on Tuesday May 28, 2024 at the Wendell Cemetery.
