Bob Benefiel

December 18, 1926 — October 26, 2019

Robert (Bob) Lee Benefiel was born on December 18th, 1926 in Denver Colorado.

He passed away at home on October 26th, 2019 in Twin Falls, Idaho.

He is survived by his wife of 69 years Betty I. Benefiel and his 5 children Deborah Howard of Spring Creek, Nevada, Ginny (Robert) Grooms of Hagerman, Robert T. (Pam) of California, David (Janet) and Bruce (Jil) of Twin Falls, 10 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII on board the escort carrier USS Kitkun Bay, CVE 71. He served on the building committee in 1960 for the new Trinity Presbyterian Church in North Ogden, Utah. He was a cattle buyer in Ogden, UT., and in Twin Falls, before moving to Long Beach, Ca. in 1972, where he was in the trucking business. Bob was a active member and past president of the Vernon, Ca. Lions club.

 In 1995 Bob and Betty moved back to Twin Falls to be closer to family. Bob loved bowling but his real passion and joy was playing golf almost daily with his friends at the Canyon Springs Golf Course. Dad never wanted any gifts for birthdays or holidays. He just wanted all the family and friends to be together laughing and having fun.

He was proceeded in death by his parents Marion Lee Benefiel and Virgina L. Benefiel and his brother Torney Benefiel and granddaughter Megan Lednisky.

A  service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday November 9th at the 1st Presbyterian Church in Twin Falls, Idaho.

 In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to either the Canyon Springs Jr. Golf program or the Twin Falls School District /Presbyterian Church Kids At Risk shoe program..
