Brody Jason Rackham returned to his loving Heavenly Father on May 17, 2026 surrounded by his loved ones at home after a valiant fight with Rhabdomyosarcoma. Though his time on earth was far too short, Brody lived a life full of faith, love, kindness, and joy that touched countless people around him.
Brody was born on October 19, 2010, in Logan, Utah, to Jason and Holly Rackham. A year after his birth, the family moved to the great state of Idaho, where Brody grew up surrounded by the people and places he loved. A few years later, he proudly welcomed his little sister, Whitley, whom he absolutely adored. Their bond brought him so much happiness.
Brody was an old soul from the very beginning. From only wearing cowboy boots to his love of classic country music — from Marty Robbins to George Strait — and made it very clear that he had no interest in “the new stuff.” He carried a quiet wisdom and sincerity beyond his years and always strived to do what was right. Brody was kind to everyone he met and had a remarkable way of making people feel valued and loved.
A faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Brody loved everything about the gospel. He especially enjoyed church campouts, spending time with friends, and learning about his Savior, Jesus Christ. His testimony and love for the Lord were evident in the way he lived his life.
Brody had a deep love for the outdoors and especially for hunting. Anytime he was in the mountains, he felt truly at home. He treasured the countless hours spent hunting, shooting, and making memories with his dad, family, and friends. Brody also loved playing disc golf with his grandpa, and he even tolerated teaching his mom and aunt how to play Fortnite. He was passionate about being part of the FFA program, where he enjoyed the camaraderie, hard work, and the opportunity to learn all he could — especially when it came to milk and soil.
More than anything, Brody loved people. He had a spark that naturally drew others to him with his positivity, genuine nature, and sense of humor. He loved life and always tried to bring smiles to those around him. His friends meant the world to him, and he treasured every moment he was able to spend with them. Even through his difficult battle, Brody continued to inspire others with his courage, faith, and unwavering light.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and staff of the Oncology Department at Primary Children’s Hospital and The Huntsman’s Cancer Institute, as well as his amazing nurse Suzie for the loving care and compassion they showed Brody throughout this past year.
Brody will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy of kindness, faith, strength, and love will continue to live on in the hearts of those he touched.
