Carlton Daniels

July 14, 1935 — February 17, 2012

On Friday, February 17, 2012, Carlton “Corky” Daniels, passed into heaven to be with his Lord and Savior. Corky was born in Filer, ID on July 14, 1935 to Dwight (Dan) Daniels and Verda Pyle. On Nov. 15, 1952, he married Marilyn Lierman, with whom he recently celebrated 59 years of loving devotion, and with whom he raised two sons, Jim and Dan. Corky was a hard worker and acquired many skills over his working career. Corky’s love for his family lead him to take many varied jobs to support them. He worked in roofing, carpentry and agriculture; he also spent three years building churches in many communities. After 27 years of service in the warehouse, he retired from Longview Fiber. Corky loved hunting, fishing and finding buried treasures while metal detecting. He enjoyed including his family in these hobbies. He was also a proud member of Alcoholics Anonymous, and was a charter member of the local AA Fellowship Hall. He recently celebrated 32 years of sobriety. Corky was a member of the Twin Falls Reformed Church and served his church and community by working in the backroom at the Mustard Seed Thrift Shop. A devoted father, grandfather and great grandfather, Corky is survived by his loving wife Marilyn, his two sons, Jim (Doris) Daniels of Filer and Dan (Angelica) Daniels of Jerome, his grandchildren, Christy (Bryan) Bacon, Jessica Fisher, Jeff Daniels, and Remington Daniels, his great-grandchildren, and his brother Charles Daniels of Gooding. He was preceded in death by his father, mother, sister Viona Ruggles, brother Clair (Irish) Daniels and his grandson Brian Daniels. He will be missed by all his friends and family. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, Feb 25, 2012 at the Twin Falls Reformed Church with Pastor Brian Vriesman officiating. The family suggests memorials be given to the Mustard Seed Thrift Shop, 702 Main Ave. N., Twin Falls, AA Fellowship Hall, 801 2nd Ave. N. or to the Twin Falls Reformed Church Building Fund.
