Obituary

Carol Leilani Galkin, 80, of Twin Falls, Idaho, died Monday, September 21, 2026, at her son’s home in Murray, Utah.

She was born December 2, 1945, in Honolulu, Hawaii, to David L. Russell and Mildred Moore Russell. Because of her father’s work with the Federal Aviation Administration, Carol spent her childhood in various places across the country and attended schools wherever his work took their family.

On March 25, 1966, she married William “Bill” Lloyd Galkin in Lancaster, California. Together they raised three children. Carol worked for many years at Twin Falls Christian Academy, where she served as the school librarian until her passing. Her love for books was evident throughout her life, and she passed that love of reading on to many she touched.

Carol was a longtime member of Grace Baptist Church in Twin Falls, Idaho. Her faith in Jesus Christ was central to her life, and she remained committed to her church and family throughout her life.

Survivors include her daughters, Christina Poirier and Nicole Paz; her son, William Galkin; 11 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William “Bill” Galkin, and her parents, David L. Russell and Mildred Moore Russell.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, October 6, 2026, at Grace Baptist Church in Twin Falls, Idaho, with Pastor Will Galkin officiating. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. at the church. Directly following the service we will head over the the Rock Creek Cemetery in Hansen Idaho for the interment.
