The fourth child of John and Marie Trappen O’Connor, she was born April 3, 1923, on the family farm near Eden, Idaho. She moved with her family to the Twin Falls area, finally settling in Filer where she worked on the farm with her family. In 1961 she returned to teaching, graduating with a BA in Education from ISU, while teaching 7th grade in Jerome, where she taught English and sometimes Math for the next 23 years. She liked to garden, each year canning many quarts of fruits and vegetables, and cooking many meals for her family and friends. She loved camping and the peace of the mountains. With her husband, she was a founding member of the Southern Idaho Draft Horse and Mule Association. With their Shire horses, Frank and Jesse, and their covered wagons, they participated in a number of wagon trains, affording members of their family an unforgettable experience. She was preceded in death by her husband of more than 60 years, her parents, her brothers Tom and John and sister Lucille, and her daughter-in-law Donna Hagan Orr.
