Danielle Sara Bates

March 30, 1991 — February 8, 2010

Danielle Sara Bates passed away Monday, Feb. 8, 2010 at her home. Her 18 years went by too quickly. Her friends and family miss her greatly. Dani had many sides, her friends and family say. She could be “very girly and bubbly” and was always listening to Taylor Swift songs. She liked all kinds of music, including acoustic and rap. She could be loud and funny or gentle and caring. She loved playing with the young siblings – Chase and Morgan – of her best friend. “Her unique, loud laugh made everyone around her laugh,” Becca Bates said of her sister. A 2009 graduate of Twin Falls High School, Dani was born March 30, 1991 in Twin Falls. She attended Bickel Elementary School and O’Leary Junior High School. She ran on the high school cross country and track teams and was the team’s top female cross country runner her freshman year. For Dani, the cross country and track teams were like a family. She had a special bond with coaches Marty Grindstaff and Jerry Kleinkopf. At the time of her death, she was a student at CSI and worked at Kentucky Fried Chicken. In addition to Becca, she is survived by her parents, John and Cheri Bates; a brother, Jake; a grandmother, Bethine Bates, all of Twin Falls. There is also a very special niece, Isabelle Bates, of Idaho Falls, as well as many other aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. A viewing will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, February 12 at Rosenau Funeral Home, 2826 Addison Ave. E. in Twin Falls. A memorial service is 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 13, at First Assembly of God Church, 143 Locust St. N., Twin Falls. Memorials can be made to a fund that will be established in Dani’s name. Contributions can be left with the funeral at the viewing and at the services. Family and friends are encouraged to share their thoughts and memories of Dani at www.rosenaufuneralhome.com
