Darla Jeanne Vick

February 2, 1955 — February 24, 2026

Darla Jeanne Vick, 71, of Twin Falls, Idaho, stepped into eternity on February 24, 2026.

Darla was born in Pasadena, California, on February 2, 1955, to Albert and Virginia (Manson) Hughes. She grew up in La Mirada and attended John Glenn High School, where she participated in drill team and played the guitar. In the summer of 1974, she began attending Cerritos Junior College, where she met a handsome divorcee name Keith Estabrook. Despite an age difference of fourteen years, they fell in love and married in January 1975. Only 19 at the time, Darla instantly became a mother to five children, a role she embraced with grace and love. Keith and Darla had four more children together, with eight of the nine children living with them at various times. In 1983, the family moved to the outskirts of Riverside, California.

Keith passed away in 1990, leaving Darla as the family’s sole breadwinner. At great sacrifice, she supported her family by working as a teller and later bank manager at Downey Savings & Loan in Claremont. Later in her life, she worked as a traveling surgical technician in California, Colorado, and Idaho. As a single Mom, she relied on the help and advice of family and close friends to raise her “village.” She often found herself lost in books, but also made time to serve those around her. Darla was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and served faithfully in many callings, including as Relief Society President of the Jurupa Fourth Ward.

In 2012, Darla moved to Twin Falls, Idaho, to live with her dear friends, Elsa and Dwayne Tolman. In 2019, she began dating Wayne Vick, and the two were married in Twin Falls in April 2020. Darla’s final six years were brightened by the love, friendship, and happiness she shared with Wayne.

Darla is survived by her husband, Wayne Vick; her children: Keith Estabrook Jr. (Julie) of North Richland Hills, TX, Leslie Rombough (Rance) of Neenah, WI, David Estabrook (Teresa) of Orange, CA, Michelle Dimos (Dale) of Irvine, CA, Timothy Estabrook of Riverside, CA, Jessica Heimburger (Christian) of Heber City, UT, and Andrew Estabrook of Riverside, CA; and siblings Dennis Hughes, Cathy Vilencia (Michael), and Martha Lacko. She was preceded in death by her parents Albert and Virginia Hughes, her late husband Keith Estabrook, her son Ronald Estabrook, her daughter Kelly Estabook, her brother Donald Hughes, and her sister Sandra Rova. Darla’s greatest joy was her family—she will be dearly missed by her siblings, children, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Family and friends of Darla will gather to celebrate her life at 11:00 AM on March 13, 2026, at the Twin Falls 12th Ward chapel.
