Derrick Brown Furukawa

Derrick Brown Furukawa 44, son of Ray C. and Shelly J. Furukawa passed away March 15, 2024 in Twin Falls, ID. Derrick was born in Idaho Falls, Idaho on November 27, 1979. He is survived by his Children Austin, Kaitlyn (Ignacio) and Bradley Furukawa, Grandchildren Sevyn and Rosalie Goodlett, Parents Ray and Shelly, Siblings Nicole (Shawn) Sharp and Nathan Furukawa.

Derrick was an extraordinary person with a beautiful personality. There was always a story to tell and he was always the best person to tell them. Something about him was truly captivating, he could talk for hours about anything.  

He absolutely loved the outdoors. The beach or the forest it didn’t matter. One of his favorite things to do was go camping. Family camping trips were a way for us to all spend quality stress free time together.

He was also a part of a whole other world not many got a chance to see but his motorcycle family and their adventures meant so much to him. You could almost always find him wearing his Harley leather.

More than anything else Derrick was a family man. He loved his family more than anything in the world. From family camping trips, playing cribbage, movie nights in the backyard, just dance on the holidays, tubing, weekly dinners, to playing with his grandkids on the trampoline, and truly always being a phone call away if we ever needed him. But his family doesn’t just stop at his parents, siblings, kids and grandkids. He had so many truly amazing friends that have also became family and he never let them know the difference.

Derrick was so many things in this lifetime and he touched all of our hearts in so many ways. He was a light in the dark for so many people and he will always be remembered for the amazing person he was and his contagious smiling personality.

He was proceeded by Grandparents Frank and Aiko Furukawa, Vernon and June Brown and Uncle Todd Brown.
