It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Dixie Rae Lumpkin, who passed away peacefully in her home on June Twenty Second at the age of 92.
Dixie was born on 4/15 in Gooding, ID, and was raised by Pearl and Billy Brown.
She graduated from Wendell High School in 1952. She married and had a daughter and two sons. She and her husband, Otis Lumpkin, lived in Washington D.C., Arizona, Washington State, North Carolina, Virginia, then spent the remainder of her life in Idaho.
Dixie was known for her kind heart, quirky sense of humor, and love of the mountains. She loved reading and spending time with family and friends. Those who knew Dixie will remember her for her spunky spirit, laughter, and energy.
She is lovingly survived by: Her husband Otis Lumpkin, Children Stephanie Edwards, Son-in-Law Hugh Edwards, Stuart Lumpkin, Daughter-in-Law Linda Lumpkin, and Steve Lumpkin, her sisters Carolyn Sliman and Marilyn McPeters, and her brother-in-law Neal McPeters. As well as Four Grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by:
Her parents, Billy and Pearl Brown; brother-in-law David Sliman; sister Ruth Marie Chauvin; and brother-in-law Robert Chauvin.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to friends and hospice staff for their kindness and support during this time.
A Celebration of life will be held on June 30th at 2 pm at Rosenau Funeral Home.
Family and friends are invited to gather to celebrate a life well lived and to share memories together.
Though she is no longer with us, Dixie's love, warmth, and the memories she created will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
