Edna Spain

Edna J. Spain, beloved mother to four children and four stepchildren, 94, of Twin Falls, Idaho, passed away at Bridgeview Estates in Twin Falls on Monday June 9, 2025, leaving a void her family cannot fill.

She was born in Paul, Idaho in 1930 to Wesley and Clara (Winn) Shy. Edna was the second of three children; she is preceded in death by her parents and her siblings, Vivian (Shy) Littig, of Illinois, and Clyde Shy of Oregon.

Edna was a devoted mother to her children, Debra (Ray) Hagley, Michael Thompson, Karen (Gerald) Ayers, and Robert (Cynthia) Thompson. She was also a devoted stepmother to Wynn (Cathy) Spain, Steven (Mary) Spain, Sue Spain, and Wade (Kristi) Spain, whose father, William (Wimpy) Spain, she married in 1974. Edna and Wimpy were happily married until Wimpy’s death in 2020. Edna is also preceded in death by her sons, Michael Thompson, Wynn Spain, and Steven Spain.

Faith and family were Edna’s two most important values. She took endless joy in her children, her 14 grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren, and even great-great grandchildren. She was happy to share a story or a picture of any of them at any time. All her family and friends felt the love and support Edna provided to them, and she felt their love and support as well. We will not forget the love she brought to our lives.

We mourn the loss of our mother, but believe that God has called her to heaven, to live there eternally with Him.

In lieu of flowers please make a contribution to Gideons or the Twin Falls Nazarene Church or a charity of choice. Arrangements are under the direction of Rosenau Funeral Home.
