Eleanor Washburn, 92, of Twin Falls, Idaho passed away in her home surrounded by family on Friday, February 13, 2026.
Eleanor Ann was born on September 4, 1933 to Eldred and Beatrice (Graue) Brenna on the family farm in Keene, North Dakota. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith at First Lutheran Church in Keene and graduated from Sanish High School in 1952.
Eleanor married Stanley Berg on June 18, 1952 in Keene, North Dakota. They welcomed son Kent before moving to San Diego, California in 1956. Then came son Keith before moving to Twin Falls in 1960. DelRae and Clark followed to complete their family.
Eleanor was a homemaker and stay at home mother to her children. She taught her grandkids how to cook, bake, sew and tend a garden. Many grandchildren have stories of Grandma making strawberry jam and homemade bread or teaching them to sew prize winning quilts. Eleanor enjoyed hiking and cross country skiing at her cabin in the Sawtooth Mountains. “Grandma’s Cabin” will be enjoyed for years to come by her children and grandchildren.
Eleanor met Jerry Washburn through square dancing in 1983. Jerry says it took a while for his charm to win her over enough that she’d go out with him. In 1989 he asked her to be his “dancing partner forever” and they married on August 19 at Peace Lutheran in Filer. Together they shared 36 wonderful years of dancing, traveling and enjoying the grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Jerry; children, Keith (Mary K), DelRae Keim, and Clark (Desiree); nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents Eldred and Beatrice; husband Stanley; her son, Kent; her brother, Clayton; her sisters, Arline, Evelyn, Dolores, Elaine, Fern, and Joan.
