Elric Robert Merkle

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved son, grandson, and brother, Elric Robert Merkle, age 7, of Kimberly, Idaho. Elric was born on April 24, 2018, to Jesse and Chandra Merkle.

Elric brought endless joy and light into the lives of all who knew him. Despite challenges in his young life, he radiated happiness, strength, and love. His bright smile, playful spirit, and sweet snuggles touched the hearts of his family, friends, teachers, and therapists alike. He loved Sour Patch Kids, rubber ducks, and playing in the water. Elric also enjoyed smooches, Eskimo kisses, and big hugs. Elric was our little snuggle bug and was also as strong as Hercules. Elric had a gift for teaching patience, showing resilience, and reminding us that love needs no words.

Elric is survived by his parents, Jesse and Chandra Merkle; his brothers, Coltin and Cooper Merkle; his maternal grandparents, Robert and Toni Barth; and his paternal grandmother, Gayla Merkle. He is also survived by his maternal great-grandfather Robert Avery, his uncles, Andrew (Alyssa) Merkle and Anthony (Karlee) Merkle, along with his cousins, Aiden Merkle and Ryker Merkle.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, George Merkle, and his maternal and paternal great-grandparents.

The family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude to Clear Source Therapy, The Children’s Therapy Place, Valley Community Counseling, and the ERC Program at Kimberly Elementary for the loving care and support they provided to Elric.

Services A viewing will be held on Friday, September 26, 2025, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Rosenau Funeral Home, 2826 Addison Ave E, Twin Falls, Idaho. Funeral services will take place on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at the Kimberly, Idaho Stake Center, 3850 N 3500 E, Kimberly, Idaho, with a viewing prior from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Cemetery in Twin Falls, Idaho.

A memorial account has been established to help support Jesse and Chandra with the unexpected financial burdens during this difficult time. Donations may be made at D.L. Though Elric’s time with us was far too short, his life was filled with immeasurable love. He will forever remain in our hearts, remembered for his laughter, his sweetness, and the lessons he gave us about love and joy.
