Esther S. Bartlett

February 26, 1923 — July 24, 2012

Esther Schick Bartlett, 89 of Twin Falls passed away Tuesday, July24, 2012 at her home of a sudden illness. She was born February 26, 1923 in Riverton, UT to George and Nellie Schick. Esther was the tenth of eleven children. As a child Esther’s family moved many times, living in Kaysville, UT, Downey, ID, Ellensburg, WA, Jerome, ID (Sugarloaf area), Wendell and Buhl, ID. While living in Wendell, Esther met her life’s companion, Edwin F. Bartlett. Esther and Edwin were married in the Salt Lake Temple on March 2, 1943. Two sons were born to this union, E. Erwin Bartlett and Ronald F. Bartlett. Edwin and Esther farmed in the Buhl area until 1972, when they sold the farm and moved into town. Both Edwin and Esther worked for Idaho Frozen Foods until Edwin developed health problems. Esther continued to work there until she was able to retire. Esther cared about her family and spending time with her grandchildren, camping, and having them “stay-over” often. She loved doing stitchery, crocheting, embroidering and making rag rugs. All the family members have pieces of her work. She enjoyed working in her yard, raising a vegetable garden and many flowers when she lived in Buhl. Esther and her sister enjoyed spending time together canning the produce from her garden every year. In 1998 after Esther retired she moved to Twin Falls. Esther was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, nine siblings and one great great grandchild. She is survived by her two sons, one sister, eight grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and two great great children. The family would like to thank the doctors, the health nurses and therapists for their help these last few months. Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm, Friday, July 27, 2012 at the LDS Stake Center at Orchard and Harrison St with Bishop Keith Brown conducting. Burial will be at the West End Cemetery. A viewing will be held on Thursday, July 26 at Rosenau Funeral Home from 6:00-8:00pm and one hour prior to services at the church.
