Geraldine Loughmiller, 66, of Twin Falls, Idaho, passed away peacefully on September 28, 2025, at 12:38 am, surrounded by loved ones.
Gerry was born on April 11, 1959, in Belfast, Northern Ireland, to Alfred and Rachel Nickels. She was the youngest of five children, her brothers Alfie, Jim, and Arnold, and her sister Maggie. In 1975, at the age of 16, Gerry moved to Twin Falls, Idaho, where she would build a life filled with purpose, love, and joy.
On August 20, 1977, Gerry married the love of her life, George Willie Loughmiller, in the Salt Lake Temple. Together, they created a home that was a beacon of warmth, fun, and laughter. Gerry played the guitar and had a beautiful voice, and her home was always filled with music.
Gerry was an extraordinary nurse who dedicated many years to caring for others. Her compassion, skill, and dedication earned her recognition as Nurse of the Year on multiple occasions. Beyond her professional achievements, Gerry was known for her boundless energy and ever-changing hobbies. From creating balloon animals to crafting homemade cards, she mastered each new interest with enthusiasm and joy.
Gerry’s greatest passion was her family and those she welcomed into her heart. She was a devoted mother to her three sons: Danny (Heidi), Gary (Coretta), and Jose (Lacey). She was a proud and loving grandmother to Mason, Sabrina, Olea, Lucas, Zurich, Genève, Gideon, Peyton, Porter, Sawyer, and Paisley. Her family extended beyond blood relations—she lovingly fostered many children over the years, welcomed foreign exchange daughters, Xenia and Angeles, into her home and heart, and was a second mother/grandmother to everyone who came through her doors.
Gerry’s door was always open. People of all ages were drawn to her magnetic spirit, her humor, and her genuine care for others. She was selfless, blunt when needed, and never afraid to tell you how you could do better. She got things done and lived life with purpose and joy.
Gerry was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Rachel Nickels, and her grandson Porter. She is survived by her devoted husband, George Willie Loughmiller; her sons Danny (Heidi), Gary (Coretta), and Jose (Lacey); 10 grandchildren; her siblings Alfie, Jim, Arnold, and Maggie; and countless others whose lives she touched.
Gerry leaves behind a legacy of love, joy, and laughter that will echo in the hearts of all who knew her.
