Gregory Basila Davis

Gregory "Greg" Basila Davis was born on November 7, 1980, in Littleton, Colorado. As an infant, his mother Charlene Marie Basila, made the loving decision to move with Greg to San Antonio Texas to be closer to her family for support. While living in Texas Char met and married David Davis. A new job opportunity for David would move the family to Twin Falls, Idaho, the place Greg would proudly call home as he grew up, although his heart was in Texas.

He attended Morningside Elementary, where many of his lifelong friendships started. At a very young age they became forever brothers that would continue for life. Grade school was also the time that Greg discovered his passion for tennis. What began as a sport his dad wanted him to play, he gave it his all. Countless hours were spent on the courts alongside a close-knit group of friends who challenged one another, sharpened their skills, and built friendships that would last a lifetime.

Greg graduated from Twin Falls High School in 1999 and looked forward to going to College. He moved to Coeur d'Alene to attend NIC. At this time there were new friendships made and bonds that would continue throughout his life. While academics were part of the experience, it was the friendships and adventures that truly shaped those years. Coeur d’Alene and Canada would never recover from the shenanigans of Greg’s band of brothers.

Greg returned to Twin Falls for a short time before moving to Tucson, Arizona, where he would work towards his bachelor's degree. While in Twin Falls he entered into a relationship that would bring him his greatest joy Natalee Marie. Becoming a father changed Greg forever. His daughter was the light of his life.

Anyone that knows Greg knows his passion for golf. He loved golf and if given the opportunity he would spend every waking moment on the course. He played in multiple golf leagues and encouraged everyone he knew to play. He love getting Natalee and his friend’s children out on the golf course with hopes they would love it as much as he did.

Whether spending time on the golf course, laughing with friends and family, or simply making memories, Greg treasured the people in his life above all else. Greg enjoyed his work life due to the friends and customers he met at Kurt’ Pharmacy. All will miss him there.

Greg got so much joy at Christmas time. He obsessed with the movie “Christmas Vacation”. Greg loved the family shenanigans, laughs and Christmas lights so much he kept his Christmas lights up all year long. If you drive by his apartment the lights are still up in his window. At Christmas time you could always count on him to show up with is crazy light up Griswold attire.

Greg will be remembered for his kind heart, unwavering loyalty, contagious laugh, and his ability to make everyone feel like family.

He was a loving son, a devoted father, an incredible friend, and someone who found great joy being around others. His legacy lives on in the friendships he built, the love he gave so freely, and the countless lives he touched. If you knew Greg you were his friend.

Though his time with us was cut far too short, Greg's love, contagious laughter, and spirit will remain with us always. He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.

Gregory is survived by his daughter Natalee Marie Skeen, mother Char Basila (Bill Lehman), father David Davis, brother John Davis (Tammy and their children), aunt Joann St Clair (Eldon), Cousins Lisa Haley Martinez, Gregory Martin Haley and siblings. brothers of is heart

Nicholas Collins (Whitney), Christopher Collins (Lindsey), Joseph Pool, and his bonus parents Tony and Linda Collins, along with nieces and nephews that adored Uncle Gregger.

Proceeded in death are his maternal grandparents, that greatly influenced his life,

Mr. and Mrs. Gregory F. Basila and a beloved uncle Gregory Walter Haley.

To honor Greg’s passions please wear your golf attire or Greg’s favorite sports team to his celebration of life service on July 7th 11 o’clock at Rosenau Funeral Home.
