Jerry Lee Smith, 71, went home with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on June 5, 2018. Jerry's love for Jesus was evident to everyone who knew him. He actively lived out his Christian faith, he wanted everyone to know Jesus so they could have the same eternal hope in Jesus Christ that he had. Jerry was born April 24, 1947 in Boise, Idaho to Gordon Alfred Smith and Donna Doris (Clark) Smith. Jerry was raised on his parent's farm in Meridian along with his older sister Leila (Wally) and two younger brothers Danny (Sue) and Mickey (Cheri). Jerry graduated from Meridian high school in 1965. Jerry worked construction part time while going to school and four years later graduated from Boise State University with a bachelor's degree in Accounting in 1969. Jerry married the love of his life, Kathy (Scruggs) on August 16, 1968. They went on to raise 3 children Michelle, Brian (Clover) and Mike (Jamie). Jerry served four years in the Army National Guard and continued to work construction. In 1972 he hired on with Idaho Power at the Swan Falls Power Plant. Jerry worked at several Power Plants throughout his career including Twin Falls, Shoshone Falls and Cascade. Jerry retired from Idaho Power at the Twin Falls Plant in 2010. Jerry was unanimously voted into the ranks of the "Greatest Grandpa in the world" by his 5 grandchildren, Tairan, Taylor, Kinsey, Madison and Brock. He spared nothing when it came to Loving and spoiling his grandkids! Jerry was preceded in death by his 9 year old Granddaughter Kinsey Mae Smith who he is rejoicing with in Heaven today! The Family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Willowbrook Assisted Living and Visions Hospice for the amazing Love and care they gave to Jerry. Funeral services will be held on Monday June 18, 2018 at 10:00 am at the Magic Valley Bible Church with a visitation 1 hour prior to the services at the church. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. Arrangements are under the direction of Rosenau Funeral Home.
