JoAnn Sievers

December 30, 1934 — May 20, 2023

JoAnn Maxine (Warfield) Sievers, born on December 30, 1934 in Angels Camp, California, went home to be with the Lord on May 20, 2023.  She spent most of her youth and adolescence in the Wood River Valley in Idaho.  Early on, the family resided at the Warfield hot springs homestead located several miles outside of Ketchum, Idaho. When JoAnn was a teenager, the family moved into the rock house built by her father in Hailey, Idaho.  While in high school, she met her future husband, Robert Carson Sievers, of rival school Bellevue.

JoAnn and Robert were married in 1952.  In their early married years, work took them to Twin Falls, Elko, Nevada and Hailey, Idaho, where Robert and Gary were born.  They eventually settled in Twin Falls where, shortly thereafter, Timothy was born.

JoAnn enjoyed many lifelong friendships as a result of living and working in the Twin Falls community throughout her adult life. She worked at Shelby’s Market, City Drug, Moore Fabrics, The Paris, College of Southern Idaho bookstore, Harvey’s Office Supply and was actively involved in her church. She enjoyed crafting and was a gifted seamstress.

Most important to her, though, were her roles as wife, mom and grandma.  In each one, she generously and graciously bestowed unconditional love through countless acts of kindness.  With her children there was time spent at countless school, church and sporting events along with time for movies and taking summer trips. She especially treasured spending time with her grandchildren, joyfully taking them on trips, to dance lessons, the skate park, Magic Valley Dilettantes performances, swimming lessons, and visits to the toy store, just to name a few.  Memories of times spent with her will be forever cherished.

JoAnn is survived by her husband Robert of 70 years, her three sons, Robert (Cheryl) of Fruitland, Gary (Kim) of Twin Falls, and Timothy (Lisa) of Boise, ten grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, her brother William (Jolina) Warfield of Salt Lake City, Utah, three nieces and one nephew.   Preceding her in death were her parents, Tom and Lois Warfield, her precious “Auntie” Esther Brown, and grandson Robert Arthur Sievers.
