Kathryn Carpenter

February 17, 1941 — August 6, 2025

Kathryn (Kt) Helen Carpenter, 84 of Twin Falls, Idaho ( previously Glenns Ferry, Idaho) passed away on August 6, 2025, after her final battle with breast cancer the past 2 years.

Kt was born on February 17, 1941, in San Diego, CA. She is preceded in death by her parents; Helen Lorraine Blizzard (Casler), Joseph James Blizzard ( stepfather) and her biological father George Barnes, two sisters from George Barnes, Janis and Barbara.

She is survived by her brother Joe, his wife Marty with their 4 children, her sister Stella ( Suzie). Her surviving children Marilyn, Roger and Joann (husband Chuck). They gave her 5 grandchildren, and the grandchildren blessed her with 8 great grandchildren. 2 nieces from sisters Janis and Barbara got to know Kt later in life and visited during her illness. In addition, Kt shared over 20 years with her life partner Jim Thomas and his children who loved her and considered her mom.

‍Kt grew up in Southern California (San Diego, Campo and Beaumont). Following graduation from Beaumont High School she married Ted Wells and together they had 2 children: Marilyn and Roger. She later met and married Jack Lintelmann with whom she had her third child Joann.

Kt previously survived breast cancer twice over 10 years ago and the monster returned 2 years ago. It has been her nature her entire life and these past 2 years to live life to the fullest. Remaining faithful and positive, surrounded by friends and family, she was constantly visiting or being visited by people that she loved and who loved her. (Including the many cats that found their new home in her homes). She loved to travel as was always visiting friends and family.

Not only did she hope for the best from her treatments but continued with experimental (trials) treatments in the hopes that the treatments would not only help her but provide insight for others who may benefit from these trials in the future.

Kt loved the thrill of adventure and while married to Jack they ventured off to Jamica with Marilyn and Roge where they lived for 6 months. Moving back to Wrightwood, California, Joann was born. From there they ventured up to Hells Canyon where they lived at both Brownlee and Oxbow Hydroelectric Dams in Idaho where Jack was a Power Plant Operator. (Yes, Jack was a dam man). This allowed Kt and the kids time for hiking, swimming and adventures around the community. Kt called this area Heaven.

She met her partner Jim Thomas in Glenns Ferry and were together over 20 years. Together they embraced the community with zeal. She loved her little red house on the snake river, working in her yard, attending community events, At 50 she returned to college and got her degree in the medical field as a CNA helping heart patients. She would drive over 60 miles to Twin Falls daily for work at St. Lukes Hospital, through hail, snow and rain. Nothing could deter her from living and working where she was happiest.

She retired from St Lukes in August of 2018 at the age of 78. Not slowing down for a minute, she became active as a council woman working closely with Glenns Ferry planning and zoning committee and in addition she was hired by the local senior fitness center to help seniors stay active and healthy.

Her final diagnosis of breast cancer in August of 2023, age 83, was a devastating blow. Many of life changing decisions ahead, she planned the remainer of her life down to her final details. Selling the house that she loved so much and moving to a beautiful new apartment in Twin Falls to be close to her doctors and hospital. With the physical help and daily phone calls from her children, cousins, siblings and many friends she remained well cared for, happy and active until the last week of her life.

We all love and miss her so and know her faith in God and Jesus took her to a glorious place.
