Kasey Weigt, 86, passed away peacefully Monday, July 21, 2025, at 11:11 a.m. Kasey was at her home and was surrounded by her Husband of 66 years, Daughter, two sons, her wonderful Nurse and Aide, and her Pastor.
Kasey was born April, 11, 1939 in Twin Falls, Idaho to Herman and Mildred Carrel. Kasey lived in Fairfield, Gooding, Hailey, Kimberly and Twin Falls. Kasey graduated from Twin Falls High School in 1957. She is a true IDAHOAN, never having a residence outside of the State of Idaho.
Kasey married the love of her life, Harlan K.C. Weigt, on Valentines Day, February 14, 1959, and thereafter, in 1964, settled into the current family home on Tyler St. where they raised their three children, Steven, Debra and Dennis. Kasey prepared taxes with H & R Block for 45 years where every client quickly became loving friends. Many of those years she taught the Tax class at The College of Southern Idaho.
Kasey had a bubbling and infectious personality and always had a smile on her face. She never knew a stranger. Everyone was always greeted with a smile and a big loving hug. The family home was always open and was a sanctuary to many in this community.
Survivors include: her Husband, Harlan K.C. Weigt, Twin Falls, Id.; Son, Steven K. Weigt, Alamogordo, New Mexico; Daughter, Debra K. Melvin (J.C.), Wendell, Id.; Son, Dennis C. Weigt, Twin Falls, Id.; two loving grandchildren, Amber and Zachary; and her brother, Jerry, and his son Herman, her nephew, Texas. Kasey was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Mildred Carrel, and her loving daughter-in-law, Mary Weigt (Steven).
A Celebration of Life will be held Tuesday, July 29th, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Open House Format, at Our Saviour Lutheran Church, 464 Carriage Lane, on the corner of Filer Ave. and Carriage Lane in Twin Falls, Id.. There will be a Traditional Lutheran Funeral Service on Wednesday, July 30th at 11:00 a.m., with Lunch to Follow, at the same location, Our Saviour Lutheran Church, 464 Carriage Lane. We hope to see you all there.
The Weigt Family is forever grateful for the care Kasey received at St. Lukes Twin Falls, St. Lukes Jerome, Visions Home Health and Visions Hospice.
