Keith Richard Hardy

Keith Richard Hardy lived a life defined by faith, hard work, adventure, and deep devotion to his family. Born in Burley, Idaho to James and Barbara Hardy the second of five children. Raised in Grand Junction, Colorado, Keith developed early the energy and determination that would characterize his entire life. He was an athlete, outdoorsman, and natural leader whose adventurous spirit carried him from the mountains and deserts of the American West to New Zealand, Africa, Alaska, and Canada. Whether hunting with his beloved bird dogs, carrying a bow deep into the wilderness, or teaching life lessons around a campfire, Keith found joy in the outdoors and in sharing those experiences with the people he loved most.

Keith faithfully served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Australia Sydney Mission, where he developed the testimony, leadership, and communication skills that shaped the rest of his life. Shortly after returning home, he married the love of his life and high school sweetheart, Lani Soelberg, in the Manti, Utah Temple, beginning a partnership that would endure through decades of service, work, and family life. Together they raised four children, creating a home centered on faith, loyalty, laughter, and unconditional love. Keith built an accomplished career that took him from shop laborer to Vice President of a major steel distribution company before purchasing and growing Layne Pumps in Twin Falls, Idaho. Yet his greatest legacy was not measured in business success, but in the countless lives he influenced as a Scoutmaster, Bishop, President of the Kimberly Idaho Stake, mentor, and friend.

Above all else, Keith was a fiercely loyal husband, father, and grandfather who believed the greatest way to show love was by giving people your time. He taught his 4 children and 16 grandchildren through example — by showing up, working hard, serving faithfully, and living courageously. His family remembers a man whose strength was matched by his kindness, wisdom was grounded in experience, and testimony was built over a lifetime of service and sacrifice. Keith leaves behind a legacy of faith, integrity, adventure, and enduring love that will continue to guide his family for generations to come. Though deeply missed, his stories, lessons, and example will live on in all who knew and loved him.
