Kenneth William Oliver

July 11, 1940 — April 30, 2025

Kenneth W. Oliver passed away peacefully in the early morning of Wednesday, April 30th.

Ken was born to Bill and Marie Oliver on July 11th, 1940, in Twin Falls, ID on a little place they called ‘Prater’s Place’ on the corner of Falls and Washington, which is now part of the CSI Campus.

Ken joined the Navy upon graduation from Twin Falls High School in 1958. He served his active duty at the base in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii and achieved the rank of RM2, Radioman Second Class, before leaving active duty in July of 1961.

Upon returning home, he met Fay Miller. He was immediately smitten and they were married on January 6th, 1962. Ken was blessed with his only child on October 3, 1963. A little girl named after his own mom, Marie.

Ken spent most of his adult life managing retail chain stores and grocery stores. At the time, this was a nomadic life. He and his little family lived in many places, including Boise, Jerome, Coeur ‘Alene, Burley, Filer and Twin Falls, ID, Fairbanks and Anchorage, AK, Ontario, OR, Sunnyside, WA, and Bozeman, MT.

Ken loved the Oregon Coast and took every opportunity to vacation there. His favorite town was Bandon.

Later in life, old age was not kind to Ken. It bit him in the ass hard and he was not able to do the things he enjoyed doing any longer. In the end though, he won the battle. He is now resting peacefully in a much better place.

Ken is survived by his wife Fay, his daughter Marie and her partner Jeff, his older brother Ron and his partner Joy, his younger brother Joe and his partner Gayla, nieces and a nephew, Valerie, Michael, Cindy, Dawn and Stacy. And let’s not forget, his big orange cat, Tu. They were best buddies.

Bon Voyage and Bonne Chance! We will miss you!
