Kyle Alan Hartley of Jerome Idaho passed while surrounded by family at home on Tuesday May 13, 2025, after battling esophageal cancer. Kyle was born on April 21, 1967, in Twin Falls Idaho to Delbert and Charlotte Hartley and joined siblings, Debbie, Rick, Jeanie, and later Mark. Growing up in Murtaugh Idaho, Kyle and his siblings kept their parents on their toes with many wild adventures including the infamous Labor Day family camp outs, water skiing the canals while being pulled by a car, and a hide and seek game where he ended up running through a barb wire fence giving him a “cool” scar on his neck and scaring Charlotte half to death! Kyle went on to graduate from Hansen High School in the spring of 1985.
Kyle went on to marry Holly McHan (Jeffers) in 1988 and together they welcomed two sons, Kyler Alan Hartley in 1991 and Stryder Alan Hartley in 1998. Kyle wore many hats throughout his career such as being a mechanic and City of Kimberly employee, but his passion was ultimately carpentry. This passion led to him quickly being recognized as a master carpenter and the start of his business Elk Valley construction in 2006. Kyle found a love of baseball through his role of coaching various teams over the years in Kimberly and was able to see his grandkids start to share that love as a spectator of t-ball games and pitching machine games. Kyle was an avid outdoorsman, taking many hunting trips over the years. Some of his favorite hunting memories were made on the annual “men only” elk hunting trip to his specially named spot. If it was a Jeep or a fast car Kyle was all about it, he was a magician of a mechanic fixing up old Jeeps and different cars over the years and loved attending any and every type of car race. Kyle was very proud to give back to his community through becoming an Esteemed Lecturing Knight of the Snake River Elks and enjoyed the many friendships he gained. In 2014 Kyle found his love, Bobbie Jo Page (Hartley) and they married in 2022 at their home in Jerome during their annual summer bash. Many people looked forward to the summer party that Kyle and Bobbie hosted at their home which included good food, karaoke, and lots of laughs. This union brought Kyle a relationship with two step children, Tawny and Galen, and the rest of the Page family who held him dear.
Kyle is survived by his wife Bobbie Jo Hartley; Sons: Kyler (Nyssa) Hartley and Stryder (Ashley) Hartley; Step children: Tawny Wight and Galen Wight; Siblings: Debbie (Rob) Povlsen, Rick (Debbie) Hartley, Jeanie (Casey) Fallert, and Mark Hartley; Grandchildren: Hoyt, Acie, and Layana; along with many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. Kyle is preceded in death by his mother Charlotte Hartley, father Delbert Hartley, and niece Lyndsie Povlsen.
Kyle did not want a funeral but instead a party therefore a celebration of life will be held at The Snake River Elks Lodge #2807 on Saturday June 21, 2025, at 10am.
