LaRae Iris Whittle, age 89, of Twin Falls, Idaho, passed away at her home on Saturday, April 25. She was born on May 31, 1936, in Conda, Idaho, to James Albert Neff and Iris Rosetta Hopkins.
LaRae graduated from Pocatello High School and began her working life at Kraft Cheese before later joining Itex Office Supply. It was there that she met Larry Whittle while on break. They chatted and hit it off, after dating briefly, Larry went off to Army basic training at Fort Ord and later, active duty at the Presidio in San Francisco. During his service, they wrote often, sustaining their growing relationship. Upon his return to Pocatello, they resumed their courtship and were married on August 20, 1960. In 1961, they were sealed as a family in the Idaho Falls Temple.
LaRae and Larry were the proud parents of two children, Jerry and Kristene. Following Larry’s completion of college, the family relocated to Twin Falls. Larry went to work for Moore Business Forms, while LaRae was employed by Mountain Bell. Eventually, Larry opened Associated Business Forms, where LaRae worked alongside him as the company bookkeeper.
LaRae had a deep love for cooking and generously shared her talent with family and friends through countless delicious meals. She also enjoyed traveling and cherished the many years she spent serving with Larry in the Twin Falls Temple. Known for her kindness, thoughtfulness, and genuine care for others, LaRae was a dear friend to many. Above all, she loved her family deeply and will be profoundly missed.
LaRae is survived by her loving husband, Larry Roy Whittle; her children, Jerry (Stephanie) Whittle and Kristene (William) Watt, all of Twin Falls; nine grandchildren—Jennifer Whittle, Elizabeth Whittle, Jacob (Brianna) Whittle, Joshua (Lydia) Whittle, Rebecca Whittle, Katelyn Whittle, Alexander (Erin) Watt, Jared Watt, and Raechel (Hunter) Williams—and ten great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Mary Ann Neff and Carol Neff; and her brother, James William Neff.
