Lori Ann Vriesman, age 70, of Twin Falls, Idaho, passed away peacefully at home on April 4, 2026, surrounded by her family, after a five-year battle with pulmonary fibrosis.
Lori was born on September 14, 1955, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, to Ernest “Bud” and Dorothy Wolters. She grew up primarily in the Midwest and married her high school sweetheart, Brian Vriesman, in 1977. In 1984, they made their home in Twin Falls, Idaho, where Brian served as pastor of Twin Falls Reformed Church for many years, and Lori served faithfully alongside him in countless ways, supporting the life and ministry of the church.
Lori lived with an adventurous spirit and a willingness to embrace any challenge. She found joy in baking, antiquing, decorating, singing, and, most of all, spending time with her family. One of her greatest joys was watching her children and grandchildren participate in music and sports over the years. Above all, her faith in Jesus guided her life, shaping her relationships and the way she loved others so deeply.
Lori had a deep love for people and a remarkable way of making everyone feel seen, included, and welcome. Her big, beautiful smile could light up any room. She expressed her love through her baking and was always thinking of her grandchildren—and their friends—never without a bag of fruit snacks and suckers to share.
She dedicated more than twenty years to the Twin Falls School District, working as a substitute teacher and paraeducator. Her presence in the classroom reflected the same care and encouragement she showed in all areas of her life. She retired in 2021, leaving behind a legacy of kindness and support for countless students and colleagues.
She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Brian Vriesman; her children, Nicole (Chris) Martindell, Kim (William) Leonard, Brett (Laura) Vriesman, and Kelly Vriesman; and her eight grandchildren, Elizabeth, Ben, Emily, Jack, Avery, Luke, Louisa, and Chuck. She is also survived by her sisters, Pat Wells (Jack McPhee) and Terri (Steve) Cramer; her sister-in-law, Mary Dehaan; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest “Bud” and Dorothy Wolters, and her brother, Bil Wolters.
A celebration of Lori’s life will be held on Saturday May 9, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. in the worship center of Twin Falls Reformed Church.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Twin Falls Reformed Church Children’s Ministry, where they will be used to help create a prayer wall in the children’s wing. It is a meaningful tribute that reflects Lori’s love for children and her faith. The family extends a heartfelt thank you to Hospice Visions for their compassionate care during Lori’s final weeks.
Lori will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. We find comfort in knowing she is now at home in heaven with Jesus, whom she faithfully loved and served.
