Lorraine Agnes Lyle, 84, of Twin Falls, Idaho, passed away on August 19th, 2026. She was a cherished wife, mother, Nana, great-nana and sister. She will be deeply missed.
Lorraine was born in Springfield, Minnesota, on September 26th, 1941. She moved to Nampa, Idaho when she was a child and graduated from Nampa High School in 1959. She met the first love of her life, Richard “Dick” Gibson in Boise in 1966. They married on August 17th, 1969 in Sparks, Nevada. They lived in Boise but settled in Twin Falls in 1974, where they had their four sons Bryce, Kevin, Jeff and Travis. When Dick passed in 2004, she spent the following years visiting family and spending time outside and at church. She met and began dating the second and last love of her life, William “Bill” Rice in 2007 after a successful blind date and eventually married in Nampa in 2008. They spent the years following their wedding traveling to see their families around the U.S. and lived part-time in both Cascade and Twin Falls. They were happily married 18 years until her passing.
She was a talented pianist and organist who dedicated her life to God, the church and her family. She loved reading, gratitude journaling, sewing, playing the piano, attending church and being with her loved ones. She was a Bible Study Fellowship leader and proudly had each of her four granddaughters in her classes. She taught piano and the organ, and performed at countless weddings, funerals and parties, and often played at church on Sundays. She was grateful everyday to be alive, and was always up for an adventure with family and friends. She was incredibly kind, silly, passionate, outgoing and loving. Leading her life confidently with love, God and laughter, she had a special way of making life more fun; anything from thunderstorms to power outages, oatmeal with extra butter and sugar, road trips, church or simply taking a walk around the neighborhood.
She is survived by her loving husband, Bill and his extended family, her four sons, her granddaughters Bryttni, Braeghan, Zoe and Arya, her great-grandchildren, Saoirse, Indra, Sylvan, Theo, Balam and Viggo, her brothers Doug, Arnie and her sister Barb.
A celebration of Lorraine’s life, honoring the incredible person she was, will be held on August 27th. There will be a viewing at 10AM followed by a service at 11AM at Trinity Lutheran, 8 S Midland, Nampa, ID, 83687. The graveside service will be held at Kohlerlawn Cemetery, 76 Sixth St N, Nampa at 12:30PM.
