Louise Petty Crowley

September 29, 1939 — January 29, 2026

Twin Falls

Our dear mother, Louise Petty Crowley, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on January 29, 2026. She was born on September 29, 1939, in Ogden, Utah, to Russell and Lucile Petty, the first child in their “yours, mine, and ours” family. She grew up in a lively and loving home alongside her brothers Bob and Richard and sisters Elma, Caroline, Ruth, Joanne, and Lorraine. The Petty home was vibrant and filled with music, learning, and laughter. Each of the children took piano lessons, enjoyed singing together, participated in swimming, and were encouraged to study diligently. Louise graduated from Ogden High School in 1957.

She met the love of her life, Robert L. Crowley, in Whitefish, Montana, where the Petty family spent summers. After Bob served in the Swiss-Austrian Mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, they were married on September 10, 1958, in the Salt Lake Temple. Together, they built a home in Twin Falls centered on love, faith, and joy. Louise and Bob were a devoted team—she taught their children to put people first, while he modeled honesty and service with a smile at Crowley Pharmacy.

Ten children were blessed to call them Mom and Dad. Louise treasured lullabies, family vacations, and late nights helping with schoolwork. She often referred to herself as a “domestic engineer,” embracing the sacred work of raising her family. She taught her children to do their best, to find joy in life and music, and to strengthen their faith in Jesus Christ.

Service defined Louise’s life. Alongside Bob, she served three full-time missions for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints: at the Missionary Training Center in Provo, Utah; in the Oklahoma City LDS Institute program; and at the Washington, D.C., Temple Visitors’ Center. She also served a part-time mission with the College of Southern Idaho Institute program. In addition, they faithfully served in multiple temple assignments. Whether in her church, community, or home, Louise gave generously of her time, testimony, and heart. Her volunteer efforts included singing in the Magic Valley Chorale, representing The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, Utah, and teaching early morning seminary to ninth graders.

Her legacy of love, faith, music, and joyful family life lives on through her husband, Robert L. Crowley; her sister, Lorraine; her children Stephen (Leslie), Richard (Gayle), Cathryn (Mike), Anne (Steve), Caryn (Brian), Diana (Ron), Christine (Aaron), Sharon (Thad), Lynette (Ryan), and Jill (Zeke); her 46 grandchildren; her 33 great-grandchildren; and all who were blessed by her kindness and devoted example.

A viewing will be held Friday, February 20, from 6–8 p.m. at Rosenau Funeral Home.
