Marjorie L. Bridge

October 29, 1923 — January 31, 2012

Marjorie Lydia Bridge, 88, of Twin Falls died Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at River Ridge Care and Rehabilitation Center in Twin Falls. Marge was born October 29, 1923 in Castleford to Clayton & Edith Houk. She was raised in Castleford and attended school in Buhl. She married Frank West on December 14, 1940. That marriage brought them three children: Gaylen, Sharon and Rick. Gaylen drowned in 1944; Frank passed away in 1969. Marge married Paul Rudeen in 1971. They were later divorced. Marge married Arnold Bridge on May 7, 1989 in Shoshone. They would have celebrated their 23rd wedding anniversary in May. Marge lived a full and abundant life surrounded by friends and family. She loved to travel and was active for years with the Buttons and Bows Square Dancers. Marge experienced a successful career with Idaho First National Bank, starting in 1969 after Frank’s death, retiring in 1989 from West One Bank. Traveling was a passion. She and Arnold were “snowbirds” for many years, enjoying the Arizona winters. They also liked cruising, visiting many countries. She was an accomplished seamstress making the majority of her wardrobe including many square dance outfits. She gifted her family members with beautiful, hand-quilted bedspreads. She was also a wonderful cook; the family will miss her great dinners. She will be remembered as a beautiful, independent woman and will be dearly missed. The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of River Ridge Care and Rehabilitation Center and A Caring Hand. Marge is survived by her husband, Arnold Bridge, of Twin Falls; her daughter, Sharon (Gary) Grissom of Sunnyvale, California; her son, Rick West of Buhl; her stepdaughter, Angie Bridge of Jerome; her grandchildren, Brent Jeadon of San Jose, California; Kerry Brown of San Jose, California; Heather (Mike) Gouker of Buhl; and Travis (Irish Witstead) West of Shoshone; 4 great-grandchildren; her sister, Ila (Bob) Belliston of Twin Falls; her brother, Reynold (JoAnn) Houk of Buhl and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clayton and Edith Houk; her husband, Frank West; her son, Gaylen West; her sister, Mildred Steenburgen; and her stepdaughter, Beverly Robirts. Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 4th, 2012 at the Twin Falls Reformed Church with Pastor Brian Vriesman officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Park. A viewing will be held on Friday, February 3rd from 6:00-8:00 PM at Rosenau Funeral Home. Family and friends are encouraged to share their memories at www.rosenaufuneralhome.com
