Marjorie Elaine Woody, 82, of Filer passed away on Sunday, July 27, 2025 at St. Luke’s Magic Valley Medical Center in Twin Falls, Idaho. Marjorie (Marjie) was born in Twin Falls, Idaho on May 23, 1943 to Horace and Ann Smith. She was the youngest of two children and grew up on a farm north of Filer. She attended schools in Filer and graduated from Filer High School in 1961 with salutatorian honors. During high school she was active as a cheerleader and involved in choir, theater and dance. She was a member of the International Order of the Rainbow for Girls where she held the office of worthy advisor with her installation theme of “I’ll Walk with God”.

Marjie enjoyed riding horses and was a member of the Filer Wranglerettes Riding Club while riding her horse, Cherokee. During her time in the riding club, she was the drill leader for a time. They performed in several local rodeos and parades throughout the Magic Valley.

Marjie was a lifelong member of the Filer United Methodist Church. Many of her youth memories were of participating in MYF (Methodist Youth Fellowship) with her sister and friends. She also enjoyed singing, and she was a member of the church choir. Marjie stayed active in the church by teaching Sunday school, along with other church activities and programs, such as summer VBS, UMW, harvest country store and dinner, church potlucks and Christmas caroling at the senior centers and nursing homes. She was always willing to be of service to others.
