Mark Stephen Hamilton

In Loving Memory of Mark Stephen Hamilton Mark Hamilton, 65, passed away on August 9, 2026, at home, surrounded by his loving family and friends. He was a proud United States Air Force veteran, serving 20 years before retiring. He spent the remainder of his career continuing to work with military aircraft. He fully retired in 2025 and, together with his wife, Leah, moved from Vacaville, California to Twin Falls, Idaho with plans to travel the western states, overlanding and camping. He quickly made Idaho his home, and created many new deep friendships in a short amount of time. He was a man who could fix just about anything mechanical. He loved tinkering, grinding and "making sparks" in the garage. An open garage door was an open invitation to the neighborhood men to stop by to visit. Many hours were spent talking, laughing, and solving the world's problems, without much actual work getting done. He loved adventure and the outdoors. He enjoyed rock crawling and off-road adventures in his Jeep, camping, and riding motorcycles. He loved music, played guitar, and especially enjoyed going to concerts. He and Leah traveled extensively throughout Europe, creating memories that would last a lifetime. Mark had a wonderful sense of humor and was genuinely entertaining. He loved telling stories and, perhaps even more, loved having an audience to listen to them. His stories, laughter, and ability to make people smile will be deeply missed by everyone who knew him. He was making his health care aides laugh even on his last day of life. His Australian Shepherd dogs held a very special place in his heart. Sierra, Hannah, Bailey and Riley. He loved them dearly and took them with him everywhere. They were an important part of his family. Above all else, he loved his family. He and Leah met at Travis Air Force Base, and shared 35 years of marriage together. Their life together was filled with love, family time, adventure, laughter, and travel. He was incredibly proud of his sons Chris and Tyler, who both currently serve in the Air Force, with very successful careers. He is survived by his beloved wife, Leah Hamilton; his sons, Chris Hamilton and Tyler Hamilton; daughters-in-law, Shinobu Hamilton and Serena Hamilton; grandsons, Ray, Liam, and Hayden; and his proud parents, Margaret Chapman and Kenneth Hamilton; step-mother Kathy Hamilton; step-brother Mike Batterman, and many beloved extended family members and close friends; and hundreds of old Air Force and Jeep buddies. He leaves behind a lifetime of memories, countless stories, and many people who loved him. He will be remembered for his humor and storytelling, his mechanical ingenuity, his adventurous spirit, his love of animals, and most of all, his devotion to his family. He was deeply loved. And will be sorely missed. A Celebration of Life will be held at a future date.
