Marlene Louise Ross, age 93, passed away peacefully on September 25, 2025, at her home, surrounded by love and family.
She was born August 1, 1932, in Bushnell, Nebraska, to Keith and Laura Moss. The eldest of three children, she grew up alongside her sister Glenda Barnes and brother Doug Moss. At the age of five, the family relocated to Nyssa, Oregon, where she would spend her formative years.
Marlene graduated from Nyssa High School in 1950. In March of 1951, she met the love of her life, Walt Ross, and they were married on July 1 of that year in Nyssa, Oregon. Their union lasted an incredible 65 years and was blessed with four children: Colleen, Shannon, Sheryl and Daniel.
In 1969, Walt accepted a job in Twin Falls, Idaho, where Marlene would reside in their cherished home for the next 56 years. Her home became the heart of countless family celebrations—birthdays, Easter, Thanksgiving, and especially Christmas, always marked by her famous clam chowder.
Throughout her life, Marlene worked in various roles, including positions at Cain’s Furniture, Beckstead Cooper CPAs, and as a marketing director at the Lynwood Shopping Center. She was a devoted member of the First United Methodist Church, where she contributed to community projects and taught Sunday school.
Marlene found joy in the simple pleasures of life: coffee and cookies with neighbors, walks through the mall, and lunches with her beloved group of friends—the “gorgeous Grandmas.” Marlene and Walt shared a love of travel, making multiple trips to Hoquiam, Washington, spending summers in McCall, ID, and visiting the Oregon coast. Their adventures also took them to Hawaii, on an Alaskan cruise, and across the eastern United States.
Above all, Marlene adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, showering them with kisses, hugs, and unconditional love.
Marlene is survived by her four children, Colleen Jensen, Shannon Neville, Sheryl [James} Frahm, all of Twin Falls, Daniel [Misti} Ross of Meridian, Idaho. She was blessed by eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded by her husband, parents, sister and brother.
We love you Mom…..Rest in Peace.
