Matthew Christopher Cunningham

March 24, 1977 — April 21, 2026

Matthew Christopher Cunningham (“Matt”) passed away on April 21, 2026, at his home in Chandler, Arizona, with his girlfriend (Aftan Meyer) by his side. He was born March 24, 1977 in Vancouver, Washington, to his mother, Linda (Cunningham) Robinson, and was lovingly raised alongside his sister, Cindi (Cunningham) Nunn. Later in life, he was welcomed into the family of LaVere J. Larson, who entered him into the records of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints as his son.

He grew up in Twin Falls, Idaho and was married to Julie Fikstad until 2010. They had two children together, Janessa and Wyatt. After their divorce, he moved to Oregon to be close to his sister and her family. Upon a short return to Twin Falls, he married America Herrara. Matthew helped raise her two children from a previous marriage, Mishelle and Donovan, while she proudly served her country in Iraq.

While in Oregon, he worked for Plastech, Inc., a plastic injection molding company in Corvallis. He later went on to work for Intel Corporation in Portland, Oregon as a computer chip technician. His creativity and ingenuity led Intel to transfer him to the Phoenix campus when it was built. He continued in the chip industry and learned 3-D printing at home.

Matt loved life to the fullest. Fishing, hunting, camping and exploring were some of his favorite activities. When he wasn’t doing that he worked on cars, trucks and spent time learning and creating whatever he set his mind to. Matt didn’t believe in moderation, but instead believed life was to be lived to the fullest. . . fast and always pushing the limits.

In addition to his mother (Linda)Twin Falls, and sister (Cindi) Oregon, he is survived by brothers Carl Nunn of Oregon, James Robinson (Sonoma, California); Levi and Erek Larson (Boise, Idaho); sisters Hillary, Vanessa and Nikki Larson, all of Twin Falls, Idaho; his son, Brendan Miller (Kimberly, Idaho) and grandson Kevin Cunningham (Middleton, Idaho) He’ll be missed by nieces Chelsea, Shelbi and Emily Nunn and nephew Gus Larson; Kathy Carter (Cedar City, UT), Becky Brown (San Diego), Tim Brown (Cedar City) and cousins Laura, Lisa, Rick, Stephen, Heather, Meagan, Matt, Mark, Christopher, Anthony, Nick, and John Anderson.

Matthew was preceded in death by his daughter, Janessa Cunningham-Horner and his son, Wyatt Cunnigham; his brother, Harley J. Robinson; his “dad” James L. Robinson and “father” LaVere J. Larson; maternal grandparents, Ken Brown, Helen Brown-Cooper, and Virginia and John Wilkinson.
