Mildred Joyce Hopwood

March 22, 1943 — February 19, 2026

Mildred Joyce Hopwood (Joyce) born March 22, 1943 Died February 19, 2026

She was born in Colorado to Francis and Margie Parmley. She had three younger siblings Andy, Jeanie and Don. She was baptized April 13, 1954 at the age of eleven. The family moved around a lot. She said she went to eight different high Schools and multiple different primary schools in Colorado and California, they finally settled in California where she graduated from Montgomery High School in Santa Rosa California. During her teen years she enjoyed playing softball, reading and was very active in 4-H.

She married Bill Nobles October 14, 1961 and in August 1962 they added Karen Penelope (Penny) to their family and in December 1963 William Francis arrived. In 1968 the family moved to Idaho and in May 1971 daughter Lauren Jay arrived. Bill and Joyce divorced in 1972. She fell in love and married Cecil Hopwood January 10, 1974 and blended two families. Because she moved so much as a child it was important that her kids did not she vowed her kids would not move after they moved to Kimberly in 1970 and she made that happen.

She worked for Sears and Roebuck Company through the 70’s and 80’s for 19 years and later became a school bus driver for Twin Falls school district and then Kimberly School district where she retired. She was a member of Kimberly Christian Church and later attended Lighthouse Christian Fellowship.

She loved fishing, camping, riding her ATV, family gatherings especially hosting Easter, square dancing, playing golf and going to her grandkids sporting events.

She is preceded in death by both her parents, her husband Cecil, step son Jeff, daughter Penny and granddaughter Amanda.

She is survived by her brother Andy Parmley of Texas, sister Jeanie Tippler (Ed) of California, brother Don Parmley (DeDe) of California, son Bill Nobles of Middleton, daughter Lauren Peters (Allen) of Twin Falls, Son-in-law Dean Stewart of Marsing, step Daughter Kim Palmer (Doug) of Twin Falls, step daughter Traci Feriante (Aaron) Twin Falls, step son Curtis Hopwood (Tracy) of Caldwell and her grandchildren and great grandchildren that she loved so dearly. Memorial contributions may be made in “Joyce’s” name to the Kimberly Public Library Foundation or to a charity of choice.
