Nina Esther Briggs-Jones

Nina T. Briggs Jones, 90 of Twin Falls passed away Sunday, May 27, 2012 at her daughter’s home in Twin Falls, ID. She was born November 18, 1921 in Ucon, ID the ninth child of Daniel Tyler and Matilda Petersen Tyler. She attended Ucon schools and graduated with a class of 35. She enjoyed school activities and dances. She met Wayne Briggs on a blind date. They were engaged on July 16, 1939 and were married at her parents’ home, March 30, 1940. They had 5 children Donalyn, Nolan, Gale, Janice and Elaine. Nina worked in many jobs including farming, waitressing, potato warehouse, and luggage handler for Skyway, Bank of California in Seattle, WA, Green Giant Corn Co. as a bean picker, Idaho Frozen Foods and as a door to door Watkins Dealer. Wayne passed away on October 30, 1985. Nina married Wayne Jones on September 27, 1997. She was very active in many callings of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Wayne Jones passed away May 1, 2007. Nina is survived by her daughter Donalyn (Bert) Rackham, Twin Falls, son Gale (Sandi) Briggs, Twin Falls, daughter Janice (Cliff) Weekes, St Anthony. She was preceded in death by her parents her 2 husbands, 2 children Nolan Briggs and Elaine Warren, 7 brothers and sisters, 1 grandson, 1 great grandson, 1 great granddaughters. She is survived by her brother Stuart Tyler of Thomas, ID, 11 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, 17 great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. A viewing for Nina will be held from 5-8 PM, Friday, June 1, 2012 at Rosenau Funeral Home, 2826 Addison Ave. E., Twin Falls. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, June 2 at the Shelley 1st Ward Chapel, 184 North Park St., Shelley, ID with Bishop Thane Bolander conducting. A viewing in Shelley will be held 1 hour prior to the services. Burial will be in the Basalt Cemetery, Basalt, ID.
