Norene Phillips

May 3, 1940 — October 19, 2020

Norene Phillips, age 80, went home to her heavenly father on October 19, 2020 surrounded by her loving family. She loved her family and friends with her whole heart. She had a strong belief in the Lord and Jesus Christ. Norene was born May 3rd, 1940 to Dallas and Vanda Mason in Montpellier, Idaho. She had two siblings, Clifford and Ann Mason. Clifford and Norene were always close. Her family loved to go fishing and hunting. Her dad loved the outdoors and transferred that love to Norene and her brother. She went to school in Twin Falls and dropped out her junior year to marry her husband. Norene met the love of her life, Elden Phillips, in 1957. They were married March 10, 1958. They had 6 beautiful children: Trieste, Danny, Sheila, Tory, Russell, and Beth. Early in their marriage they lived in Aberdeen on Elden’s family’s farm. They then left there and started traveling on road construction. They bought land in 1964 and moved to Kimberly. Elden and Norene ran the paper route in Kimberly for 35 years. Anyone out and about early would find them running around town on their golf carts. They served a calling for church and visited all the nursing homes for sacrament on Sundays. They enjoyed all the people that they met during that calling. They were voted Good Neighbors in 2012. She was primary president, relief society president, and a visiting teacher for her church. She enjoyed being a room mother for all of her children and some of her grandchildren. She was always at any special event that her grandchildren had, even if they made her nervous. She was always supportive of her family. She was famous for her rice pudding, pink jello salad, and baked beans, as well as her special changes to her famous dishes for her pickier family members. She made awesome no bake cookies and pumpkin chocolate chip cookies. She loved family dinners and having everyone together. No one ever went hungry after leaving their home. She is survived by her loving husband, Elden. Along with 5 of their children: Trieste (Mike), Sheila, Tory (Mike), Russ and Beth (Chris). She is loved by her grandchildren: Tina (Jeff), Shaun, Tonya (Andrew), Shane (Katie), Tyler (Anna), Karlee, Zach, McKayla (David), Nick, and Austin. She always enjoyed being around her 7 great grandchildren. She joined her parents, Dallas and Vanda Mason and Frank and Lauretta Phillips; her brother Clifford and sister Ann, her son Danny and daughter in law Tina and numerous extended family members at the pearly gates. She also got reunited with many great friends that she had made over the years. She had many beloved animals that preceded her in death.
