Orville Leroy “Leroy” Scantlin, 84, of Twin Falls, Idaho, met his lord and savior on December 10, 2025. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Leroy will be remembered for his humor, faith, and deep love of family.
Born on January 21, 1941, in Victoria, Texas, Leroy was the son of loving parents who instilled in him a strong work ethic and faith. After meeting the love of his life, Karolyn Kay McIntyre, the two were married on June 9, 1961, beginning a lifelong partnership filled with laughter and shared adventures. That same year, Leroy joined the United States Air Force, serving from October 4, 1961, until January 3, 1966. Stationed at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas, Leroy trained dogs for the service and cherished his time in uniform.
Following his military service, Leroy and Karolyn settled in Twin Falls, Idaho, where they built their home and family. He worked hard but always made time for his passions—fishing, hunting, camping, and boating. A lover of the outdoors, Leroy also enjoyed working with his team of mules and riding through the Idaho mountains.
Leroy’s faith guided every part of his life. He was an active member of the Assembly of God Church, later called Full Life Church, and participated in the Kiwanis Club for several years. Known for his sense of humor and storytelling, especially around Christmas when he shared stories of Jesus with his grandchildren, and great grandchildren Leroy brought joy and warmth to everyone he met.
Leroy was preceded in death by his parents, sister, and little brother. He is survived by his beloved wife, Karolyn Kay Scantlin; his son, David Leroy Scantlin (Kim Shelley); his daughter, Diana Kay Kuznia (Shane Kuznia); and his cherished grandkids Alvin James, (Breanna) Scott, and Kanyon, great-grandchildren, Kace, Ava, AlliRae, Rivy and Ellowyn.
A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on December 18 at Sunset Memorial Park, with a celebration of life to follow at Rosenau Funeral Home from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.
