Lorene Cole

March 20, 1938 — March 20, 2026

Pearl “Lorene” Cole (Rye) ,88, of Twin Falls ID, went to her eternal home on March 20, 2026. Her life here on earth was affectionately known for her love, compassion, humility and her faith in God. Her passing leaves a hole in the hearts of her family and friends. There is no greater gift than celebrating your birthday in the presence of the Lord. She will be remembered by her humble and compassionate spirit.

Lorene was born March 20, 1938, in Clarksville, Tennessee to Homer and Marie Rye.

Lorene is survived by her older sister Laverne Montijo (Nashville, TN), her children June (Harold) Trusty (Olive Branch, MS), Sheila Franks (Twin Falls, ID), Rick (Kimberly) Cole (Kimberly, ID), and Brandi (Dustin) Moore (Lexington, SC). Her grandchildren, April (Patrick) Thornburg, Amanda (Hunter) Sledge, Austin (Nicole) Franks, Alisha Franks, Jessica Turcotte, Nicholas (Stephanie) Turcotte, Cody (Madison) Cole, Savannah, Samuel and Juliette Moore in addition to Kara, who was loved as a granddaughter. Her great grandchildren, Jaxton, Wesson, Madison, Landon, Brooklyn, Marlie, Brockton, Arrow, Gunner, Keltyn and Adalyn, one great great-grandchild Dakota. She is also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

At an early age Lorene, with her sister, Verne were involved heavily in helping their widowed father start Pentecostal churches and conduct revivals throughout the south. Lorene played piano and sang at church services as well as revivals. She recorded a record with a friend that was played on Sunday morning radio shows during religious schedules. She was married to Wayne Hood from Tupelo MS, from 1960-1967. In 1968 she married Stanley Cole from Paul, ID and was a military wife for 24 years. She was a true southern bell but relocated during her second marriage to Idaho. Her southern charm never met a stranger. She worked from an early age in multiple fields such as factory work, Disney World, fashion, nursing, sales, management and as a certified paralegal. In her later years she worked with Sheila, her daughter, selling satellite TV systems. She retired at 65 to enjoy life.

Lorene enjoyed shopping, singing, working, spending time with her children, grandchildren, and her one and only great great-grandchild Dakota. She loved watching the news; and she especially enjoyed watching WWE wrestling-always insisting, “It’s not fake”! She was a devoted Christian woman who spoke, prayed and sang to Jesus every day. She will forever be remembered as someone who loved flowers so much, they would bring tears to her eyes. A simple yet unforgettable characteristic.

We welcome family and friends to join us for her celebration of life.

Her funeral service will be held at Rosenau Funeral Home & Crematory on April 2, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. in Twin Falls ID. Pastor John Collins, Jr. will be officiating the service. Burial will follow in the Sunset Memorial Park.

“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith”—2 Timothy 4:7
