Ralph Everett Jones

January 6, 1947 — February 4, 2026

Ralph Everett Jones, a man of curiosity and adventure, passed away peacefully on February 4th, 2026, at the age of 79. Born on January 6th, 1947, in Blackfoot, Idaho, his life was a tapestry of experiences that shaped his character.

Ralph was preceded in death by his parents, Winston and Abigail Jones, and his sister Johanna “Hansi” Gale. Ralph is survived by his three children: Ralph Joshua Jones, Edith Jones, and Emma Jones.

The son of an Army Colonel, Ralph spent his early years traveling the world. He lived in Japan, Turkey, Istanbul and as a child explored the great pyramids of Egypt and the Holy Land. Such early childhood adventures instilled a lifelong fascination with culture, history, and the outdoors. These experiences nurtured his curious nature and his love of adventure.

Ralph attended the University of Idaho playing football as a proud Vandal. In his younger years, Ralph embraced the thrill of stock car racing at the Magic Valley Speedway before moving to Boise where he spent several years coaching competitive boxing. Ralph eventually settled in Glenns Ferry, Idaho, where he lived for many years volunteering time with the cities civil committees. His Sunday mornings were known for waffles and crispy bacon, he was known for his joy of simple pleasures.

Ralph’s creative spirit extended to poetry. One of his pieces, “Immortality,” reflects his hopes for remembrance:

Immortality is gained through,

The thoughts of others.

Their remembrance of

Us.

Mortality is

The fear

Of not being

Remembered.

Ask them to

Remember not just

You the man

But the thoughts and deeds

Of the man.

Ralph’s life was marked by his deeds and quick humor. His family and friends will carry his memory forward through stories of a life always remembered and never forgotten- he will be thought of often.
