It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Raymond Charles Armstrong, who departed at his residence in Kimberly, Idaho. By his side were his granddaughter Abigil Armstrong and sister Peggie Wade, along with his son Kris Armstrong, Aunt Karen Cooper, and Uncle Kelly Armstrong. Raymond dedicated four years to the Marine Corps from June 8, 1977, to June 7, 1980, during which he earned four commendations: Pistol Marksman, Rifle Expert Badge, Letter of Appreciation, and Good Conduct Medal. He took extraordinary pride in serving his country and frequently spoke of his experiences as a proud Marine. Raymond was an exceptionally hardworking individual, balancing two jobs while raising his family. He was employed at Conagra Brands for over 25 years and at Sears Roebuck & Company for approximately 7 years. An enthusiast of Camaros, he owned throughout his life, including a blue 1968 Camaro at the time of his passing. Raymond “is survived by” his father, Raymond Devere Armstrong of Kimberly, and his sons Kris Armstrong (Holly) of Kimberly & Buhl and Mike Blackburn (Lyndsey) of Twin Falls, along with five grandchildren who were his pride and joy: Abigil Armstrong and Lilya Armstrong of Twin Falls, Grayson Armstrong of Kimberly & Buhl, and Cooper and Lacy Blackburn of Twin Falls. His siblings include Sharon (David) Blackburn of Twin Falls, Joy (Norman) Worsham of Kimberly, Peggie (Dan) Wade of Kimberly, Mary Pullin of Hollister, and James Armstrong of Twin Falls, as well as uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, great-nephews & great-nieces.
Raymond was preceded in death by his mother, Velma Jean Armstrong, as well as his uncles: Charles, Loren Dale, Jerry, and Donny Armstrong, Lloyd Hundley, and Floyd Cooper from Twin Falls, along with his aunt, Evelyn Brink, also from Twin Falls. His grandparents, Glenn Draper and Carrie Draper of Burley, and Alice and (Step Grandpa) Albert Meyer of Twin Falls, in addition to his grandfather, Ellis Charles Armstrong of Twin Falls, who was his best buddy. His cousins include Bill (William) Carder from Burley, Idaho, Cecil D. Woods from Challis, Idaho, and Dick Armstrong from Twin Falls.
Funeral services will be conducted by Rosenau Funeral Home and Crematory located at 2826 Ave East. The services are scheduled for Thursday, the 7th of 2025, with a viewing at 9:00 a.m., followed by the service at 10:00 a.m., a brunch from 11:00 to 12:15 p.m., and burial at 1:00 p.m. at Snake River Canyon National Cemetery, 1585 E Elm St., Buhl, ID 83316.
