Robert Thomas Qualls

Died July 27, 2026.

Tom arrived with his twin sister, Tamra on August 1, 1951, the last of John and Mary Qualls’ children. As twins, they were rather unique at that time and were doted on by five older siblings, who even took them to Lincoln School for “Show and Tell”. They were so adorable.

Most of his life, he went by Tom, but as an adult he switched to Robert. That was difficult for the rest of us to get used to. As an infant, he dealt with serious ear infections, which plagued him his entire life, leaving him mostly deaf in one ear. This probably resulted in him struggling so much in school. He persevered through and graduated from Twin Falls High School in 1971. He went to work for Lamb Weston and stayed there for about 20 years. It was there that he met Crysinthe’a and they were together for many years, traveling to Mexico. He loved her dearly. He never married or had children. What he did have off and on were his beloved dogs.

In his younger years he loved fishing and playing pool. He became a real pool shark! But his primary love was cars. At any given time of the year, he would have different types of vehicles in his driveway, from rickety pickups to his favorite, a Lincoln Continental. We never knew what we were going to see in that driveway. The biggest surprise was a 95’ long, 30-year-old RV. He drove that thing all over, through Las Vegas, Los Angeles and Montana following the Fair Circuits.

Throughout his life he struggled with mental illnesses and homelessness. They got the best of him until he was able to get into his own home. For the past 10 years or so, we finally know where we could find him. During these years, he developed a love for reading the bible, attending AA meetings and going to the Fellowship Hall on Second Avenue. His health started to deteriorate pretty rapidly and for the past few months he lived at Bridgeview Care Center, until his passing. Thanks to them for their loving care.

He was pre-deceased by his parents, his brother Kelly, his nephew Bobby and beloved brother-in-law Larry Watson.

He is survived by his twin sister Tamra Stanger (Randy), three other sisters Pam Watson, Judy Howard (Bill), Karen Brennan (Andy) and brother John (Jenni). Also, numerous nieces and nephews.

My hope now is that he will be given a second chance at a wonderful life.
