Robert "Brent" Thomas

March 12, 1959 — October 30, 2023

Twin Falls, ID

Robert “Brent” Thomas, 64, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family after a short but courageous battle with cancer on October 30, 2023. Brent was born March 12, 1959, in Downey, Idaho to Gordon Sam Thomas and Josie Darlene Thomas. Brent grew up in Twin Falls, Idaho graduating from Twin Falls High School with a football scholarship to Snow College. In Brent's senior year, he was one of the Bruin Football Award  Winners for Defensive Player of the Year and was 1st team All SIC Linebacker and he was on  the team of Intramural Champs for Basketball. He was a senior letterman for Bruin Baseball.  Shortly after high school Brent met the Love of his life Pamela Kaye Tracy. They married in 1979 in Twin Falls. They were blessed with three children: Sammy Jo Stephens, Tracy Lynn Thomas, and Robert Lewis Thomas. In March of 1979 Brent and Pam bought the Hideout Bar where many memories and life long friends were made. Brent worked many years in HVAC until he was recently able to retire. Brent was always up for a challenge whether it was a game of shuffleboard with his buddies or a foot race with someone who needed to be shown up down the nearest ally. As long as there was a bet involved, he was up for the challenge. Brent loved the “Thomas Club Ranch”. He spent much of his free time in Malad, Idaho helping his father raise cattle and harvesting the hay crop. He always manned up a couple times a year to round up the cattle, always on the naughtiest horse of course, (well because no one else would ride it)! Bringing his wife and children with him, making memories, doing the things he loved. Hunting was not just a hobby for him but his passion. Every year he couldn't wait for October to come around. It wasn't always about getting the big one, but the memories made at “Deer Camp '' from cooking meals, having a beer with friends and family to giving the “New Guy '' a hard time. Brent created many memories with his kids, grandkids, siblings, nieces, nephews and many friends that will live on. Brent had a special place in his heart for his grandchildren. He was the best “Grandpa” “Gramps” or “Paca” a grandkid could ask for! Brent was preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Josie Thomas, his granddaughter Alexis Mogensen and nephew Josh Barnes. He is survived by his wife Pam Thomas, his children: Sammy Stephens, Tracy Thomas, and Robert Thomas: His Brother Gordie(Kathy), sisters Kathy and Denise. His grandchildren: Gage, Kierra, Kyler, Breah, Kennedy, Kayden, and Jackson. His nieces and nephews: Darcy, Whitney, Kody, and Austin. We want to thank Pam for taking such good care of him while he fought so hard! His funeral services will be at Rosenau Funeral Home & Crematory, 2826 Addison Ave E. Twin Falls, ID on Monday, November 6, 2023, with viewing and greeting of the family starting at 10:00 a.m. and the service beginning at 11:00 a.m. Following the service, the burial will conclude at the Malad City Cemetery at 3:00 p.m. Following the burial, the family asks that you join them at Hotel Malad for food and drinks to reminisce good times.
