Ronald Leroy Maughan

Ronald Leroy Maughan, 71, of Twin Falls, Idaho, passed away on Sunday, October 13, 2019. Ron was born to Robert Leroy Gunnell Maughan and Frances Rider on October 9, 1948 in Twin Falls, Idaho at the Old Rock Hospital. Ron graduated from Filer High School in 1967. He then went on a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.  He served for two years in the Southern California Mission from April 23, 1968 to February 20, 1970.

Ron married Connie Jo Nab on January 23, 1972 in Las Vegas NV.  They were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple in April 5, 1973.  Ron and Connie were married for almost 48 years.  They lived in Twin Falls, Idaho for most of their lives.

Ron worked at Goodyear as an automobile mechanic, worked for his father-in-law selling home improvements at A-1 Decorators, started his own siding business, and later became a car salesman in 1989 for Thiesen Motors.  He worked as a car salesman at various dealerships until he retired in 2016.

Ron had a great wealth of knowledge about cars and loved to work on them.  He also loved to work on small engines.  Some of his hobbies included trains, rocks, mining for gold, and small engine repair.

Ron was preceded in death by his daughter Anjeanette Lyn Maughan, father Robert Leroy Gunnell Maughan, mother Frances Rider, brother Roy Hyrum Maughan, brother Ray Olsen Maughan, sister Vesta Lee Maughan, and sister Roberta Rider Maughan.

Ron is survived by his wife Connie Jo Nab Maughan, and his four children: Lauri Anne Maughan Thompson (Justin Vance Thompson), Robert Tyson Maughan (Aimee Kathleen Barnes Maughan), James Reuben Maughan (Jessica Dyer Maughan), and Angela Marie Maughan Lewis (Nathan LeRoy Lewis). He is also survived by nine grandchildren (Corbyn Vance Thompson, Reanna Grace Maughan, Riley Tyson Maughan, Treysen Andrew Thompson, Hunter Matthew Koch, Andrew Ryker Maughan, Alexa Marie Lewis, Ethan LeRoy Lewis, and Asher James Maughan), and two sisters (Von Zae Rider McNelis and Farrellee Rider Tanner), and multiple nieces and nephews.  Ron loved to talk about his family, children, and grandchildren.  He found great joy in their successes.  He will be greatly missed by them all.

Ron’s funeral and viewing will be held on October 19, 2019 at the Harrison Street Chapel of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 667 Harrison Street, Twin Falls, ID.

The viewing will be held at 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM with the funeral from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM.  The Graveside service will immediately follow at the Twin Falls Cemetery. 

In lieu of flowers the family asks for donations to a missionary fund at a church of your choice.  Thank you for your love and prayers.
