Ruven Torres Ruiz, age 78, passed away peacefully on April 28, 2025, in Twin Falls, Idaho surrounded by his family. Born on August 22, 1946, in Tunguitiro, Michoacan, Mexico, Ruven was the son of Juan Torres Paz and Maria Guadalupe Ruiz Arteaga. He was brother to Gloria (predeceased), Genoveva, Froylan, and Elva.

Growing up in Tunguitiro, Ruven experienced life in his hometown before spending his young adulthood working in Mexico City. There he learned the importance of an education which he later encouraged in his children. He eventually returned to his hometown and soon after married his devoted wife, with whom he built their family home in Mexico, a place that remains today as a testament to their early life together. In Mexico, Ruven dedicated himself to tending his land and caring for his livestock, instilling these skills in his children.

He then spent many years working in the United States providing for his family. In the early 1990s, he immigrated with his family to Kimberly, Idaho, where he lived until his passing. For over three decades, Ruven was a valued member of the agricultural community, working as a dedicated farmworker on the ranch of Raymond Butler (predeceased) in Hansen, Idaho.

Ruven and his wife created a beautiful life, where they would spend their time between Idaho and Michoacan. He found joy in nurturing his vibrant rose bushes, colorful flower beds, bountiful garden, and fruitful trees.

Ruven’s legacy lives on through his beloved wife of over 54 years, Maria Elena Torres, and their eight children and their families: Natanael, Idalia, Ruben, Aleli, Rocio, Maria Guadalupe, Maria Elena, and Juan. He also leaves behind grandchildren and a great-grandchild: Natanael, Citlali, Miguel, Alfredo, Jonatan, Ruben, Monserat, Yoselin, Azusena, Dante, Melina, Aarón, Julian, and Arlen.

With limited formal education, Ruven created opportunities through his efforts and dedication so that his children could pursue higher education and careers in diverse fields including Agricultural Engineering, Accounting, Ranch Management, Law, Commercial Management, Social Work, Architecture, and Real Estate Development.

Ruven will be fondly remembered as a strong, honest, kind, and loving man who selflessly prioritized his family, always striving to provide the very best for them. His unwavering belief in hard work and his deep dedication to his loved ones were evident in all he did. Ruven possessed a wonderful sense of humor and found his greatest joy in spending time with his family, creating cherished memories that will endure for generations.

Ruven Torres Ruiz, de 78 años, falleció en paz el 28 de abril de 2025 en Twin Falls, Idaho, rodeado de su familia. Nació el 22 de agosto de 1946 en Tunguitiro, Michoacán, México. Ruven fue hijo de Juan Torres Paz y María Guadalupe Ruiz Arteaga. Fue hermano de Gloria (fallecida), Genoveva, Froylan y Elva.

Al crecer en Tunguitiro, Ruven vivió su juventud en su pueblo natal antes de pasar un tiempo trabajando en la Ciudad de México. Ahí aprendió la importancia de la educación, la cual fomentó más tarde en sus hijos. Eventualmente regresó a su pueblo y poco después se casó con su amada esposa, con quien construyó su hogar y familia en México, un lugar que permanece hasta hoy como testimonio de sus primeros años juntos. En México, Ruven se dedicó a cultivar su tierra y cuidar su ganado, inculcando estas habilidades en sus hijos.

Luego pasó muchos años trabajando en los Estados Unidos para mantener a su familia. A principios de la década de 1990, emigró con familia a Kimberly, Idaho, donde vivió hasta su fallecimiento. Durante más de tres décadas, Ruven fue un miembro valioso de la comunidad agrícola, trabajando como un dedicado campesino en el rancho de Raymond Butler (fallecido) en Hansen, Idaho.

Ruven y su esposa crearon una vida hermosa, dividiendo su tiempo entre Idaho y Michoacán. Encontró alegría en cuidar sus vibrantes rosales, en su colorido jardín de flores, abundantes árboles frutales y su jardín de vegetales.

El legado de Ruven perdura a través de su amada esposa de más de 54 años de matrimonio, María Elena Torres, y sus ocho hijos y sus familias: Natanael, Idalia, Rubén, Aleli, Rocío, María Guadalupe, María Elena y Juan. También deja atrás nietos y una bisnieta: Natanael, Citlali, Miguel, Alfredo, Jonatan, Rubén, Monserrat, Yoselin, Azusena, Dante, Melina, Aaron, Julián y Arlen.

Con una educación formal limitada, Ruven creó oportunidades a través de su esfuerzos y dedicación para que sus hijos pudieran seguir estudios superiores y carreras en diversos campos, incluyendo Ingeniería Agrícola, Contaduría, Administración de Ranchos, Derecho, Administración Comercial, Trabajo Social, Arquitectura y Desarrollo Inmobiliario.

Ruven será recordado con cariño como un hombre fuerte, honesto, amable y amoroso que desinteresadamente priorizó a su familia, siempre esforzándose por brindarles lo mejor. Su firme creencia en el trabajo y su profunda dedicación a sus seres queridos fueron evidentes en todo lo que hizo. Ruven poseía un maravilloso sentido del humor y encontraba su mayor alegría en pasar tiempo con su familia, creando recuerdos preciados que perdurarán por generaciones.
