Tom was born in Twin Falls on May 16, 1944 and died there on May 13, 2026. He attended Twin Falls schools, the College of Southern Idaho and Idaho State University where he obtained a bachelor's degree in Government. He worked for the Idaho Department of Labor for twenty-four years. He then made the best decision of his life and took early retirement when he was fifty-four years old. He spent his entire life in Idaho. He always had a loving dog at his side and considered dogs to be the most valuable asset of mankind. His homes were most special to him. He updated, landscaped and decorated each one and made them extraordianary instead of just ordinary. He always had a special project underway that would enhance his home and his life. Local affairs and state and national government concerned him. He became tired of political controversies later in life and quit watching national news on television. The resulting lack of stress made him less argumentative and happier. He was the son of Berkley and Myrtle Griggs, and the brother of Ruth and Karen Griggs, all deceased. His first cousin Jim Sturgill, of Boise and other cousins and his dog Barney survive him. No funeral services is to be held. Memorial donations may be made to the Twin Falls Animal Shelter or the Idaho Humane Society.
